Testing the Water (9 of 9)
The state of WI requires that all wells especially newly constructed wells be tested for consumption. Many states will have the same requirements. Testing for consumption means that a water sample will be taken from the system and sent to a state-approved testing facility. Here the water is tested for levels of bacteria in the well. The results are recorded and sent to the drilling contractor as well as to the state. There are many other types of testing that can be done/ordered and this should not be confused with water quality testing that is done for water softening systems. This is the one that is required by our state law and is the only one we perform during the drilling of the well unless otherwise ordered by the contractor or homeowner.
