Free Time Yes, it is hard to believe a thriving business owner gets any free time. But, it’s even harder to believe that Todd’s free time takes him to far away lands to mission work! It’s True... he loves to use his time and talents and financial resources to help underprivileged countries get valuable, clean drinking water. His endeavors began in 1995 when he joined up with the Christian organization WATER FOR LIFE. This organization has a mission of providing drinking water to communities in Haiti. This experience was quite moving but on the following years God has not prompted him to take on anther project... until this year. In June of 1999 Todd found himself in cities of Honduras that Hurricane Mitch has almost completely devastated. By joining forces with local builder, Henry Osburne, and the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Todd was able to not only meet and enjoy the people of Honduras but help coordinate the drilling of 3 new wells in the town of Sulaco Yoro (1 for an orphanage and 2 for the city). Apparently that was not enough because Todd found himself returning to Honduras only 6 weeks later with six bags of well frilling equipment and his wife, Erin, and mother Judy, in tow. This trip allowed them to install a hand pump for times of water and power outages brought on by future storms. they were also able to help coordinate the drilling of anther water well for a community known as Guacamaya (also coined “The Buried City” after Mitch left them buried under many feet of mud. Judy was able to put her nursing skills to work in the local clinic, and Erin enjoyed using her minimal Spanish language skills to communicate with the local people. Everyone had a great time getting to know the wonderful people and children of this country. It is a trip that will long be remembered not because of how much we gave but how much the people of Honduras gave to us. I do not believe this is the end of the story
